Link to Feature on E/BI once wrote about the hope for a perfect season for E/B. It didn't happen, so it makes this year very special. Good luck Friday Night. A Most Special Friday Night Opener Wednesday, October 19, 2011 11:53 PMSmall Business Start Up Loan Fund CreatedA revolving loan fund is being established in Elmwood. PJ Star Article - Colleen Callahan, state director for USDA Rural Development, brought a check to Elmwood Friday that the city is using to establish a revolving loan fund. The fund started by a check for $99,000 made available through the federal agency’s Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) program. Start-up businesses will be able to apply for loans of up to $25,000 at a reduced interest rate. The fund will be administered by the city with the advice and consent of an advisory committee made up of local leaders. The city council will be the final arbiter of all lending decisions. Loan funds can be used for building construction or reconstruction as well as repairs, equipment and working capital. Scheduled to air on Wednesday October 19th. A remarkable team preparing for the final regular season game which is always Senior Night. E/B Trojans traveled to North Fulton won 54 to 6The NF Wildcats were expecting a closer game, as was most everyone else. The opening kick off to NF was fumbled and recovered by the Trojans. E/B took advantage and went up 6 to 0. E/B kicked every extra point the first five successfully. North Fulton lost two fumbles and two interceptions in the first half. The four first half turnovers opened the door for the E/B Trojans and they went into the end zone five times in the first half. The Trojans took a 35 to 6 lead into half, scoring the fifth td with 11 seconds on the clock. North Fulton broke a long run in the first half setting up a first and goal. E/B went off sides moving the ball even closer. The Trojan defense stepped up, no gain on the first, a QB sack on the second down set ball back on the 17, NF was turned away without a score. With E/B already up on the scoreboard this was a real momentum boost for the Trojans. The Wildcats were able to break out for some big runs but were only able to score once. A slant pattern left a NF receiver wide open for NF's only score of the evening. E/B came out in the second half continuing the dominant performance. The Trojans soon pushed the score up to a 40 point lead and the running clock brought a quick end to the game. E/B's underclassmen kneeled out the game rather than try for another td after a long run took them near the goal line. A dominating performance: great line play, tough defense, big runs and successful passing. Some nights are good nights for football. It was about as good as it gets for the Trojans, tonight. E/B looks to finish next week at home against the Bushnell-Prairie City/Avon Spartans. They have the opportunity to complete an undefeated season the first time ever for the E/B Trojans. Trojans versus Spartans a true classic match up. Friday, October 14, 2011 10:21 PM

Click the link ----------E/B Trojans 21 Knoxville 20 --- E/B 5 - 0Great Photos of Game Galesburgsports.com Games don't get closer than this one, E/B came away the winner as the two point conversion attempt was stopped. Only 45 seconds remained after the kick off was recovered, then E/B knelt out the clock. The Trojans are 5 and 0 and are on the path to win the Prairieland Blue Division. E/B came out and did a good job moving the ball. Billy Bean had some big runs, but the Trojans do not rely on one ball carrier. The Trojans use multiple backs I have heard, Westart, Harkness, Cluskey, and McCormick the qb all called on big runs. E/B went up 14 to 0, but Knoxville is a powerful team. They began to grind away moving the ball on carry after carry. The Blue Bullets pushed in a TD and the extra point on a run. This brought the score to 14 to 8 in the second quarter. E/B came back and scored another TD on a long pass from McCormick to Ingersoll(?). (I didn't write this down, and my knowledge of the kids isn't what it was a few years, ago.) E/B kicked all their extra points successfully this came to be an important factor. Knoxville came back and tried to score again before half time, as the clock ran down several passes went awry keeping the score 21 to 8. The Easter Seal presentation was held and then it was time for the second half. E/B had played great defense stringing out the option, cutting runners at the line, and pressuring the quarterback, but I think Knoxville was beginning to wear the Trojans down. Both teams had some great plays in the second half, it all came down to the 4th quarter. The two point conversion failed after a Knoxville TD making the score 21 E/B 14 Knoxville. E/B took the kick off needing to move the ball and run the clock, but time came up short for both teams at the end. E/B had a good run but a chop block was called this resulted in a 15 yard walk off from the line of scrimmage. Looking at 2 and 25, E/B on a good run got back most of yards lost to the penalty. E/B on a 3rd and about 10 attempted a pass but threw an interception. This set up the heart stopping late game drama. Knoxville worked the short field and scored a TD with less than a minute on the clock. This TD made the score 21 to 20. Knoxville went for two and the win. Knoxville first tried to draw the Trojans off side, but E/B was very disciplined. The Blue Bullets came back out after a time out and tried to rely on their power running attack to get the win. A Knoxville back countered to the right zone. The ball came very close to the goal line, but came out and E/B recovered. The final score 21 to 20. A tremendous victory, a hard loss, but thank you to both teams; it was a great game to watch. E/B seems to like to play close games. Next week the Trojans play at Farmington against the Farmers. Farmington is 3 and 2 with a win over Havana tonight. A great rivalry renewed next Friday. A police official says the act led up to 250-thousand gallons of water being spilled. That lowered the pressure of the hydrant to zero which could result in contaminants getting into the water system. The village decided to issue the boil order as a precaution. Police have no suspects in the case. wcbu-fm Monday, September 5, 2011 10:45 AM An Opportunity This MorningIt is a beautiful Labor Day morning refreshing cool, there is no water because of an unfortunate act of vandalism, release of water is the cause of the problem. Assessment notices will be arriving today?Assessment notices will soon be sent for 2011. Assessments for 2011 are the basis for 2012 property taxes. The computerized market analysis based on all legitimate sales establishes trends for different types of residential property. Some of your questions may be answered on the Elmwood Township Assessors Page which has links to the county web site property look up, downloadable forms, appeal process. When reviewing an assessment determine if the property has appropriate exemptions, such as homeowners. This information is available on the county's web site property look up page. Decide if the assessment is a reasonable estimate of what a residential property would sell for on the market. An appraisal, assessment, or realtor's opinion is an estimate and all will vary, but each is predicting a value. Property taxes are the major funding source for our schools, fire protection districts, county and township government, and other entities depending on your district. Property taxes help the people closest to you provide the services we rely on everyday.
