Christmas 2010

This summer (August) Memphis was added to Nancy’s region for Mosaic. It occurred without much notice, so I volunteered to drive her. It is an 8-hour drive. I did get to see Lambert’s in Sikeston, MO and Beale ST in Memphis. I think I would to go to Beale St again, but Nancy is somewhat averse to revelry. Erik began the hard work of raising expectations and getting results in his new job. He is making progress. September means football, American football, in every red blooded American family, so if you aren’t into football you must be a blue blood. Alex and I shared announcer duties at the local high school. It was fun some amazing close games for the Trojans. Even though we loved the football experiences this Fall Knox was not often a winner, only once in fact. Alex did play well, but it was certainly a year of transition. Coaching changed after last season. There is an essay about Alex leaving football on the web site, as well. He walked away without an injury. .. A gift and grace

I post and read messages from Facebook http://www.facebook.com/ShireSteve Nancy has reconnected with many classmates through Facebook.  We had a nice class reunion for my Roseville High School class, but I found my generation isn’t as easy to reach by email, facebook, etc. as the tech savvy world would believe.  It was a wonderful October weekend.  This Christmas with snowstorms threatening my Mom came over on Thursday. She stayed at my mother in laws house next door until I took her home on Sunday. We went to church in town and easily got together for each meal oblivious to the snow. Meals are highly important when Erik and Alex are both home.  So we had a love filled Christmas.  and gifts
