22 Days is a Lifetime

My Dad always said when you die "to die as his father had wouldn't be a bad way to go." Although my father's time was little different; it was very quick from his living life as he had been for years to surprising everyone in Smithshire by being gone.

HarryAnna --- Glen

Harry and Anna (Johnson) Davis----- Glen Davis

Grandpa and Grandma Davis didn't work as names in our family.

I got to know both my maternal and paternal grandparents very well growing up. Allowing children to learn from the perspectives, love, and encouragement of grandparents is essential to a great child. Although my grandfather Glen died in 1968 when I was 16. My grandmother Helen died in 1970. They were semi-retired and had more time to spend with my brother and I as we were growing up. I was very close to them. I remember my Dad coming home to meet us after school one day; he hugged me crying as he told me Glen had died. I had never seen my father cry before. Men of the WWII and Korea generations were stoics; it was like he had lost his own father. I will never forget that moment.
