Turning the Frantic Family into A Fulfilling Family
You are raising future adults; each child will be charting their own life. They will have to have the independent judgment to do this.
Now this is not the way they start out, because children are not independent, But Adults need to be.
A transition has to occur where your children gain more skills and trust. There will be a moment when you realize it would be OK to let your child stay home while you run to the grocery store for milk and bread --- (at least the store in Elmwood)
Palace Theatre
It will be OK for a group of friends to walk to a movie at the Palace Theater, or ice cream at the former Tastee Freeze. If they want their favorite shirt clean, you allow them to wash and dry it themselves, maybe insist it is the only way it will get clean. Slowly in very small safe steps you will allow your oldest child to become independent.
