Elmwood Pharmacy

The Elmwood Pharmacy has been in operation since 1978. The Pharmacy is owned by Cathy Windish. She has been the registered pharmacist since graduating from Drake University in 1975.

In 1999, they joined the Pharmaceutical Compounding Centers of America located in Houston, Texas. They remodeled the Pharmacy to include a Compounding lab. This enabled them to customize prescriptions to meet each patients needs. Whether it's for humans or pets.

Compounding

Their lab contains specialized equipment such as an electric balance, capsule machine, electronic mortar and pestle and ointment mill. These state-of-the-art devices are not found in most pharmacies, but they enable us to compound medications to each perscriber's exact specifications.

Compounding allows us to customize to each patient's need such as:

• Change dosage form to transdermal creams, troches, lollipops, and suppositories.
• Patient needs an individualized dose not available commercially
• Convenient ambinations to improve compliance
• Sugar, preservative, dye, lactose, or alcohol free
