I had never seen a floor exposed like that before. Of course, I should have remembered it because Harry wasn’t in the church too often. I also remember Earl Allen up by peak of the roof nailing shingles mad as a hornet that he had not been told we were roofing the church. Earl didn’t want anyone to think he was too old to help shingle the church. I have always advised Santa Clauses not to wear brown shoes; it is a dead give away that Santa is your grandfather Glen. There are always small miracles in this church, like the Easter morning breakfast, which the men have done for about thirty years with out anyone being killed off, at least to my knowledge. It has been good to be here in this church and in Smithshire. We have faced many times when there were needs and being a part of helping fulfill them was important. So we have lived life together here in Smithshire; sometimes hanging on, other times feeling our cup was overflowing. In Smithshire cups usually overflow into wet basements. Our family is so glad to have shared life with all of you.
With our sincerest thank you,
Steve Davis and the Davis Family
